Oi!

Brazilian New American Cuisine · 2025 pop-up experience

Two people laughing in front of the Pike Place Market sign in Seattle Plate of fresh egg noodles Pastrami and cheese sandwich on toasted rye with sautéed mushrooms Bowl of white rice, beans, sautéed greens and toasted farofa with lemon wedges Baked lasagna, rice, a bottle of wine and shoestring potatoes laid out on a kitchen counter Orange seafood stew with shrimp and herbs in a black stone pot

Oi! is where the flavors and flair of Brazil meet the flora and fauna of Cascadia to offer a new New American.

The name

In Brazil, a simple "oi!" means so much more than "hello." It's how we greet each other: casual, friendly, and open. The word comes from "olhai", an old Portuguese exclamation meaning "look!" or "pay attention!"

For Spenny and Matheus, "Oi!" seemed like the perfect name for an endeavor in Brazilian American fusion — welcoming you like any Brazilian would: with open arms and a full plate.

The mascots

The mico-leão-dourado — an endangered golden lion tamarin from the Atlantic Forest — and the great horned owl. Together: day and night, fire and focus. Brazilian heat and Cascadian cool.

The chefs

Matheus, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, self-taught, vibrant and unafraid to shake things up in the kitchen. Spenny, PNW-native, has worked with some of the finest chefs from Boston to Portland for over a decade.
